Concert Sound Production: Basic and Advanced Sound with Kris Truzzi

BASIC COURSE: July 10 and 17, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
ADVANCED COURSE: July 31, August 7, 14, and 21, 10 a.m. - Noon
Course Fees: $40 for BASIC $80 for ADVANCED $70 for ADVANCED for those who took last year’s basic course with Steve Fisher $100 for both courses

If you've ever had the urge to get behind a sound board, these classes are for you. Led by veteran audio engineer Kris Truzzi, The fundamentals of audio production will be covered through a combination of lecture and hands-on exercises. Focusing largely on concert production, this will be of special interest to musicians, aspiring engineers and music fans who want to learn more about the technical aspects of sound production. When this course is over, you’ll be totally prepared to become one of The Ark’s invaluable volunteer sound engineers!
This seven-week hands-on course, which will be held at The Ark will use a state-of-the-art Harman International-JBL sound system, but the skills you learn will apply to virtually any sound system.
About the instructor: From Nirvana to Dizzy Gillespie, Kris Truzzi has worked with a diverse array of artists, in all facets of event production and audio engineering.
This is the perfect class for anyone with aspirations to become a sound technician or for anyone who's curious about how live sound works.
BASIC COURSE: Introduction to Concert Audio Production From microphones to speakers, how it all comes together and what to do when it doesn't. ADVANCED COURSE: Advanced Concert Audio Production A hands-on experience, working with real-life situations, the class will walk through the steps that create a great concert experience. From working with difficult artists to working around the limitations of the venue or equipment, this course is for students that took last year’s basic course with Steve Fisher or this year’s basic course with Kris.
