"'One of the best songwriters in the English language'--Chicago"
Sunday, September 18, 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $15
Michael Smith is one of those artists whose songs you've probably heard without knowing who wrote them. Steve Goodman recorded Smith’s "The Dutchman"; Jimmy Buffett did "Elvis Imitators"; Trout Fishing in America recorded "Dead Egyptian Blues," Smith’s classic lament about the pharaohs and their vanished riches -- and that's just the top of a long list. Smith has toured and recorded with Anne Hills, written a musical play about art called Hello Dali, helped create the Weavermania show, and made Acoustic Guitar magazine's list of essential singer-songwriters. In sum, he's had a tremendous impact on folk music for three decades now. Smith has two new live CDs, Such Things Are Finely Done and Michael Peter Smith ... Live at Dark-Thirty.
