Is Bela Fleck a bluegrass musician? Jazzman? Avant-garde bandleader? All of the above and none. And, like many other true musical geniuses, he turns limitations into opportunities: his music takes shape on the banjo, an instrument with a restricted harmonic and dynamic range. Béla Fleck doesn't just cross musical boundaries, he ignores them altogether as he creates his instantly recognizable soundscapes. On this tour, Béla was looking for the opportunity to play more bluegrass related music and found his chance with the amazingly talented Casey Dreissen on fiddle and Bryan Sutton on guitar. The trio will be playing selections from Béla’s bluegrass catalog as well as compositions from all three musicians.
