"A spectrum of songwriting talents"
Massachusetts-based singer-songwriter Cheryl Wheeler garners admirers with her creative range. Her various personalities--heart-wrenching romantic balladeer, marvelous observational humorist, poet of ordinary New England scenes, activist social critic, irascible grump--merge into a multifaceted whole that lets Wheeler bond directly with hearers. "There’s no gulf between us," Wheeler says of her audiences. "Look, I'm just like you." Pop, folk, and country artists pick and choose from among the riches of Wheeler's songs (the desperate "Addicted" was a country #1 for Dan Seals), but it's only in person that Wheeler comes across in full spectrum.
