"The artist who defined folk-rock for a new era"
The All Music Guide calls Lloyd Cole "one of the most articulate and acute songwriters of the post-punk era." He has a new album, "Anti Depressant," and considering how adventurous he's been with each release going back to his days with the Commotions in the 1980s, everybody ought to check out this show just to see what the heck is next in Lloyd's remarkable career. He's done sparse folk-rock, ventured into electronics, cabaret music with strings, gorgeous alternative pop, and more. This British-American artist is an underrated figure, and a rare treat in our part of the world. Maybe it was Michigan's reputation for good golf courses that has drawn him here -- he is said to have a passion for the sport.
